ABOUT US
We protect the well-being and human rights of young people, especially adolescent girls/young women
OUR STORY
YouthFORCE was created in 2009 as the youth advocacy arm of Ntankah Village Women Organization with a mission to improve on the socio-economic conditions of grassroots women.
YouthFORCE facilitated youth activities in grassroots communities on Sexual and Reproductive Health, Sexual Assault, HIV and AIDS, and Economic empowerment.
These intervention and community outreach programs whereby and large successful until YouthFORCE through extensive field work came to the realization that young people, particularly girls are not a homogenous social category and each category requires targeted strategies to meet their respected needs.
We also noticed that as Ntankah is a predominantly women’s organization, it unintentionally diffused and incorporated youth needs into the needs of women.
In this light, YouthFORCE’s founder, requested that their mother organization grant them confidence to work independently from them.
This request was granted and YouthFORCE worked with mentorship from Ntankah Village Women and once we got adequate experience and things began falling into place, YouthFORCE got registered and acquired a legal certification in 2011.
Since then, Youth Force sprung into full action and is serving grassroots communities in 5 of the 10 Regions of Cameroon.
YouthFORCE gave birth to GirlFORCE, a movement, aimed at promoting bodily autonomy and sex/child trafficking, this movement believes they are the ideal generation to combat modern day slavery; particularly child and sex trafficking.
They have dubbed themselves ‘Young Feminist Abortionists’.
