Sexual and Gender-based Violence (SGBV) Prevention and Response

SGBV Prevention and response to SGBV is a core initiative at YouthFORCE. Children, adolescents and young women fall under some of the groups at risks of SGBV, we respond to cases of violence against girls and boys, young people with disabilities and in some instances with the elderly.

Our prevention and response initiatives address sexual violence, physical violence and abuse, coercion, emotional/ psychological and socio-economic violence.

We begin our prevention and response programming from the onset of an emergency regardless of whether a case has been brought to our notice or not.

We educate and raise awareness on SGBV in Schools, Churches, Communities, Radio, small and small- group meetings and we respond by giving emergency relief like psychosocial counseling, medical support, legal support, livelihood support and temporary accommodation for safety.

We honor international days like international day of the girl child and 16 days activism to end gender-based violence amongst others, to raise awareness on SGBV.

We carry out various activities to commemorate the day.

We and our partners provide emergency response to cases of violence that need emergency support.

This is not limited to girls and young women, boy and young men also benefit from our emergency response program.
